MINEMURA 3RD IN GR AT WORLD UNI C’SHIPS




THESSALONIKI, Greece (July 12) - Ryo Minemura earned a bronze medal at 55 kg as the greco-roman competition got under way at the world university wrestling championships.

The recent Kanagawa University graduate scored a pair of wins sandwiched around a semifinal loss to Yemar Ramazanov of Kazakhstan. In the match for third place, Minemura edged Turkey’s Sensoy Onur, a fifth place finisher at the 2005 university championships.

Japan’s other three entries on the day lost in their opening bouts and were unable to proceed to the repechage rounds.
