SOFIA (February 15) - Results in championship bracket matches involving Japanese wrestlers at the 2nd Olympic freestyle wrestling qualification tournament Universiada Hall in Sofia:

60 kg (24 entries)

INOUE, Kenji (Self Defense Forces)

F1 - df. Ibrahim Abdulrahman (QAT), 5-2

Inoue took a finger in the eye only seconds into the championship final, but battled tough through the first period. He received a 1-point passive on a high-crotch takedown the ended up out of bounds as the first period came to an end. In the second period, Abdulrahman flipped Inoue over when he attempted another high-crotch for a 2-1 lead. Inoue, however, came back with a go-behind point as the match entered its final minute tied at 2-2. In the last 20 seconds, Inoue hit another high-crotch, but then switched off to a double-leg to drive Abdulrahman to his back as time ran out.
