   ATHENS (August 23) - Results of bouts involving Japanese entries in the second session of the greco-roman wrestling competition August 24-26 at Ano Liossia Olympic Hall:

55 kg (23 entries, 7 pools) - TOYOTA, Masatoshi

Pool A
1R - lost to Istvan Majoros (HUN), 5-3, 7:26
2R - df. Jansel Ramirez (DOM) by TF, 11-0, 4:19
3R - bye
(Toyota did not wrestle in the second session. He placed second in Pool A to Majoros and did not advance to the quarterfinal round. Toyota finished in 10th place overall.)
84 kg (20 entries, 6 pools) - MATSUMOTO, Shingo

Pool F
1R - lost to Ara Abrahamian (SWE), 5-0, 6:07
2R - df. Janarbek Kenjeev (KGZ), 7-1
3R - df. Attila Batky (SVK), 3-1

Matsumoto and world bronze medalist Batky battled to a scoreless draw over the first three minutes. Matsumoto received the first point of the match when Batky lost his grip on the clinch to start the second period. In the ensuing par terre, Batky was penalized two more points for using his legs to defend against Matsumoto's reverse waist lock and lift. Finishing the pool competition with two wins against a loss to 2002 world champion Abrahamian, Matsumoto finished in eighth place overall.
