  CRETEIL, France (October 2) - Results of matches involving Japanese wrestlers after the first session of the greco-roman wrestling world championships in Robert Oubron Sports Hall:

55 kg - TOYOTA, Masatoshi (Pool 2, 35 entries)

2R - df. Tero Katajisto (FIN) 5-3
(Toyota gave up three points when Katajisto countered a reverse waistlock with a nifty wrist throw. Toyota came back in the second period with a pair of one-point gut wrenches and a correct lift for another point.)
3R - v. Im Dae-Wong, Korea

66 kg - IMURO, Masaki (Pool 13, 46 entries)
1R - lost to Jannis Zamandouridis (GER) 1-4
(Imuro scored the first point with a quick body tackle only 14 seconds. After suffering a cut over his eye from a head butt, Imuro was hit with a passivity call late in the first period and was sent flying for four points with a straddle lift only three seconds from the intermission.)

1R - lost to Hamza Yerlikaya (TUR) 4-1
(Matsumoto gave up a body tackle and lost two points in a scramble from Yerlikaya's attempted reverse waistlock. A quick gut wrench put Yerlikaya in control at 4-0. Matsumoto got one point back when Yerlikaya backed off the mat.)
